Hi can you help. Just got my 1989 Mini Mayfair started after six years sitting in the garage and the front ( off side ) indicator does not work properly. The side and rear flashing quicker to indicate that the front bulb may be blown. Trouble is the bulb is fine. There are two wires tucked behind the top of the front grill on the right hand side that seem to have black lugs that are corroded where the wires go in to them. I have cut these out to reconnect the wires but realise they may be some sort of resisters ( they have copper pieces inside the black coating) so what do I do to fix the problem. Indicators on the left work fine. Help Please.

Clean all the terminals behind the grille then check resistance

I have exactly the same problem with the near side front indicator on my 93 sprite, I replaced everything only to discover that the feed cable under the slam panel was dead, meaning the problem must be somewhere further up in the loom. In the end I gave up & did a temporary fix by taking a feed from the side repeater lamp to power it with. (Which turned out to be quite an effective temporary repair, in fact it's been that way for about 15 years now!!)
