Well we are all feeling the love from these characters. Still waiting to hear from Adam if there is anything more we can do. I think on average we get hit by at least 20 spammers all trying to join every day. The validation process winnows out the majority, the team also goes in to label them as spammers as well, so very few actually get through.
Then there is the approval for their post if they manage to blag their way through all of that. That is the final step to actually prevent them from physically posting on the main forum itself. We do get the odd couple managing to post on the "Recent Status Updates" so not sure how that actually occurs.

I've had a few as well. Did the registration process use reCAPTCHA to sort out the bots from the humans? I know of one forum that has disabled new member registration because Google has discontinued the service and it was swamped with spam.

I know Adam worked his magic so that any new posts on the main forum need to be approved by a staff member. The validation process was improved as well i believe. We were being swamped by Bot spam and it was frankly ridiculous.
Adam knows the full ins and outs with our IT so hopefully he can come up with something.

Are they all coming from the same place or is it from all over the world?

Difficult to know where in the world they are coming from because these spammers are very good at hiding their locations behind a chain of IP addresses. There are a lot of different IP addresses and they make multiple posts until we stop them. Don't forget they're doing this for a living. Why do you ask? Are you thinking of having a word with them
