Hi everyone, my first post!
I have a 1994 Mini 35, it has a 1275 engine.
Currently have the engine out of the car while all the body work is being carried out. Friends of mine have recommended that I change the clutch while I have it out, and said I should get a LuK one. Looking for opinions on this as they seem to be very pricey, and being that my car will do minimal mileage etc. I wondered if this was 'overkill' or still worth going for? At a whopping £270 compared to a Sax one at £135 (which a supplier suggested was basically just as good).

What have others used, what should I be looking for? - Max (learning as I go along!)

well the clutch friction plate is only about 40 pounds.

but if you are doing the friction plate and the spring cover and the release bearing then about  110 to 120  but dont forget you will need to have the clutch assy balanced if you change the spring cover.

so friction plate 40 quid release bearing and O ring about 6.50.

o ring

and if you join TMF+ for 5 quid a year you get 7.5% discount from Minispares.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply (wasn't expecting one at this time of night to be honest!

That's fantastic thanks for the links, I will enquire as to what actually comes in the kits I was quoted for (LCP Automotive components) just for reference but if the parts you mentioned are the parts essentially needed to overhaul my current clutch then fantastic.

Would this be of reasonable quality? (I believe mini spares supply Valeo)

While you have the flywheel off have a real good look at the primary gear seal (normally orange. you might have to pull the plastic guard along the gear a little bit to see properly) for leakage. If in doubt have it changed
