Hi Chaps,

Can you let me know where the rear subframe has been strengthened to accommodate the 13" wheels (sports pack, 96 Equinox). Also, can i get away with a standard rear sub due to rarity of strengthened variety?

They have an extra fillet welded to the donut mount thats it, probably could get away with a standard item

I put a standard one on a couple of months ago, replacing a standard one which had been on about 14 years, not a problem. I wouldn't go for the cheapo one though

Unless you are going carry extra weight in the car over bad roads and standard subframe will be fine.

Could any one explain how the 13s required this strengthening?

It was discussed about a year back if you want to do a search.

One of the ex-Rover guys(A-Cell I think) who was involved with the project gave some insight.
