Hello All,

I've decided to indulge my long standing fascination with the Mini. I'm selling my 32 Ford hot rod and looking for a suitable project Mini. While I do have much love for a pristine, stock early Mk1, I'm going for the heavily modified route with more than a few radical yet subtle modifications in mind.

I'm not looking to make a Mini something it's not (Ex; the unfortunate 80s/90s and cars butchered in an effort to get that Testarossa look..ugh), but rather a refinement of the lines/styling cues that exist.

I've been learning as much as possible before making a purchase (has any other auto developed such a cozy relationship with rust?!) and expect to learn even more from this community. There are more classic Minis in the US than one would expect but so far the right starting point has eluded me.

Hello

sounds like you know what you are doing and what you want to do.

I think Mini rust depends a bit on where you live too,

here in Japan, most Minis are quite rust free

but it's not hard to strip down to the shell and start from scratch

the cash adds up for a fast Mini though.
