The front end of my Pup has been de-seamed and wondering if I might need to replace the entire windscreen surround. Has anyone done it, and if so could you link to your thread or post up some pictures of how you braced the shell for this work and how you went about it? Thanks

I replaced full surround on my mk2, didn't do any additional bracing. Only problem I had was the inner a post panels I had to remove from the panel and fit after it was in place as it wouldn't fit with them on, think in factory it was assembled with side panels and without roof in place, other issue which is mk1 and mk2 specific is the inner rail corner sections are different so I had to use original ones off the car. Other than that it fitted fine.

I've posted a guide from when I replaced mine last year.

Like Daz said, bracing isn't really needed, but I did get a bit of a bulge outwards - easily corrected with a bit of careful pushing / shoving / hammering.

I did not deseam mine though, so it was much more straightforward.

If you get the Heritage panel, you will have inner A post panels & upper roof strengthener already welded in place (plus a brace keeping window aperture from collapsing).

Can't hyperlink this, but you should be able to cut & paste (or search for "front windscreen panel replacement")

Good luck
