it is all basic Fiberglassing. nothing special. just lots of time and effort to have a good base then a good mould and then make parts.

Boat building will be the main outlet for fibreglassing by hand, google that if grp moulding doesn't throw up anything of interest.
The glassfibree handbook by WH Warring - if it's the one I'm thinking of covers the repair of a Lotus Elan. You could probably find something more up to date, covering carbon, Kevlar and Epoxy, but there won't be much difference for hand layup.
