Morning all,

After some advise or some recommendations for a full suspension set up.

i've recently got a 95 Sprite that came on a moulton smooth ride kit, but with very very tired shocks.

i've replaced a fair bit of the suspension, but need a base line to work with as i've still got some minor issues to work around.

i've changed to the following:

spax lowered adjustable shocks (set 10/28 on the front, and 22/28 rear)

adjustable hi-lows at the rear (got the front, but not done yet as i've not had the time to remove the ones with the moulton kit.)

1.5 deg neg camber front lower arms

group a adjustable tie rods

camber and caster adjustable rear brackets

still got the moulton cones on front and rear as i've not got the tool to remove them yet, but possibly planning on replacing with the standard (or maybe uprated)

The car is running on 12s at the moment with 145 tyres for the winter, but will run 165 tyres for the summer with stickier rubber!

Problem i'm getting is a scrubbing on the rear end that is noticeable on rougher roads and a general lack of feel from the front.

i think i either need a suggestion for a base setting (but i dont know how much variance i have in the body)

or is anyone knows a good place to get the whole thing checked and set up fully.

Any advice is appreciated.

Peter

Hi, I have a similar set up to you. You need to take your vehicle to someone who specialises in wheel alignment and get them to carry out a full 4 wheel alignment.

I took mine to have this set up after changing lots of the bits to a guy in Northampton, think it was called Track Road and Race. Seemed a long way to go and I'm also from Surrey but it was well worth it, car spent most of the day there, coast around £110. Still running with this same setup now about 3 years later.

Sounds like a nice road trip though! Maybe worth a visit. Managed to break my downpipe on a speed bump today, so that sucks... Need that fixed first. Then maybe a visit

If the car is lowered, the first thing would be to raise it back to standard ride height unless it is a track-only car.

Moulton cones do require standard ride height as they need the full available suspension travel.

Once that is done have the suspension set-up to the figures quoted on earlier threads (search for these).

Then the car will drive and feel right.
