Mounting Visors To A New Shell

Best Answer big john , 13 October 2017 - 12:36 AM

Went out and tried it again. This time I found them! For future reference, on a genuine Heritage shell the first hole on each side is at 4.5" from the mirror screw on that side. The second hole is 13" from the first. The two center holes are very close to the windscreen rubber, probably 1/4". The outers are a little farther away, but not much. Hope this helps someone else down the road.

I stupidly installed my headliner before checking that the holes were predrilled for the sun visors. It's a new Heritage shell and I think I remember the holes being there, just not exactly where! Could someone with a new shell but no headliner tell me if the holes are already there and where they are vis a vis the mirror holes? If you could measure outward from the mirror mounting holes and give me a place to start poking around! Thanks in advance! John

Ha ha, I did the same thing. Went round with a needle approximately where I thought they were and bingo. Once you find one the rest is history. Hope that helps.

I did try that! Problem was I don't want to poke more than one hole and probe as much as I could but no hole was to be found! A friend has a mini pickup with the headliner removed and I measured the distance from the mirror screw to the visor hole on one side and got 3 1/2", I tried that on mine but couldn't find any hole in the area. I'm beginning to wonder if there are any at all predrilled.

Call Heritage and ask if they drill them.
