So today I looked at the old scuttle and it's in perfect nick other then both ends so I've gone down the repair route, where I've cut out the first end you can see in to the base of the door arch/window surround (not sure if I'm being clear) and there is some very mild surface rust. It seems a bit radical to take the whole front off the windscreen section to check/alter but obviously I'd like to sort it the best I can. Any advise on what I should do?

Yeah you must of faced the problem I'm talking about because of the extensiveness of the repairs your pics show but I can't see the bit I'm talking about mate I need to figure out pic uploading
