Hi Guys,

I'm looking to change the stance of my mini in a few weeks. This will include, lowering (hilos and lowered shocks), new arches and 12x6 alloys.

I'm pretty sure that I'll have to cut back the front panels from what I've read, which is not a problem. I will be fitting sportspack arches or W&P (do they still make the deluxe versions or are they now just called the classic arch set on their website?)

When it comes to the point of measuring to cut the arches and such, would I lower the car first onto the new 12x6's and then cut / fit the new arches? I going for a pretty snug arch to tyre look. which will probably result in the car only being a few inches of the ground where the sump is concerned.

Just trying to think on the most methodical way of doing it without have to always going back to readjust etc.

If you go with sportspack arches I would fit the arch first with the temple. Then lower the car to the wheels and cut/bend to miss the wheels on full lock.

Also check out project binky on YouTube if you havnt already there a episode on tubbing/cutting arches which may help

W&P arches if I remember right fix from the lip so you may have problems fitting them.

if you get the sump to within a couple of inches you will have no suspension movement and be in a ball joint breaking mode.

lower you car as is now and us it for a while after having set the suspension to what you want. (you may need to trim your wings already to clear at the front)

once you are happy with the set up then fit the new wheels and mark out what metal you still need to remove. then offer up the arches as see where they need to go to get the look you wish.
