Collecting An Engine Block

No carrier I can find will touch one without it being on a pallet which is £65.
It's just a 35 kg block not a whole engine - can anyone recommend a carrier?
Thanks.

Items over 20 or 25kg (not sure which) cannot be handled by hand. They have to be able to be moved/lifted etc by mechanical handling methods. i.e. a forklift; hence your answer regarding palletization.

Just checked their T&Cs - https://direct.tnt.c...ht-restrictions
and they should be able to help you.

I tried TNT but engines are on their 'naughty items' list.
Assuming that it’s well wrapped so it’s not obvious as to what it is could you describe it as a “metal casting” perhaps?

It's not an engine, it's a component. The reason they don't do engines is that they contain oil and other hazardous substances.

You never know then, I will contact them and see what they say.
Could always describe as a boat anchor, paper weight or door stop lol.

I think these days 20 kg is the cut off limit.
They'll take if if not on a pallet, but must be 'forklifable' meaning, you need to be able to get fork tines under it. I often use 'skids' for this which are a 1/4 size pallet.
Also, being what it is, if I can say, you do want it packaged carefully and appropriately so it doesn't get damaged in transit.
