Hi,
Daughter has a an '86' mini with a carb n/a , it starts and runs ok just every now and then a very small dip /pop in engine revs, I've noticed that this is at the same time that the King lead arcs out the the small wire terminals on the coil ,, every 10-15 secs approx sometimes 1 click/spark sometimes 2, Not sure what is causing King Lead to arc out on the coil. .. any help appreciated. . Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Thank you

Could be a hairline crack in the insulated section on the end of the coil?

Could even be damp, a squirt of WD40 will sort it out if it is.

Ok, thank you for replies,, I'll try the wd40 first then go for a new dizzy cap..

Hopefully one of them will sort it.... If not in the infamous words of uncle Arnie
"I'll be back"

Thanks again..

If its that bad that you have to squirt wd40 on a ignition lead IMO its a waste of wd40. Leads break down, I would get a new set of leads and make sure the tower of the coii is free of dirt/oil and does not have any surface cracking.
