Im all for period mods, I'm all for making something look better regardless of the 'correct' items/parts for a car and I'm all for keeping a car original etc.

I know its not 'correct' for my year of clubby, but always liked the fluted trims that were on the deluxe models i  think.

So one of my trims i need to replace, so wondered if people thought i should go for fluted this time for a different look. i know its my decision, but can't make my mind up?

thanks!! :)

I'm guessing http://www.minispare...7A.aspx|Back to

instead of http://www.minispare...px|Back to shop

It's a matter of personal choice.

I prefer the look of the fluted one if fitted perfectly, otherwise it looks terrible and i think I would prefer the non fluted

Go for it.....although the fluted 'deluxe' trims are harder to fit around the curves.....you might find the Mk1 forum thread link below useful for best supplier and fitting method:-

My plan as far as i remember was (my project took me 8 years to complete!) to use fluted one, but it was so hard to shape it around the curves so had to get standard trim that took me 5 minutes to fit

Ok, now I understand, I prefer the fluted ones as long as you take your time and fit them straight.

yea that is the only thing, I've only tried to fit fluted ones once before and there not quite as simple as the normal ones.
