Nice looking build - I notice you've painted/coated your inlet manifold black - is that a thermal barrier of some sort?

Thanks!

Sort of, but the main reason is to protect it against possible corrosion. So it is more cosmetical than functional.

Okay, that's also a good idea. And it looks great too :-).

Another update.

Last week we fitted the headlining and rear roll cage, which was a tough job! But I am content with the results. The roll cage is painted in the same colour as the outside roof.

We also installed the fuel tank (which is painted in the same colour as the roof as well), including fuel pump, filter & last part of the hoses:

Finally all parts of the engine are fitted. So the Weber, radiator, exhaust en all remaining small pieces are in place:

And finally the engine is running. I like the sound! Will try to upload a video of it!

Then we had a problem with the KAD quickshift. The nylon thing was moving up when changing gears, so it isn't working. This is what happened:

Because I bought it already in 2009, but installed it for the first time right now, I wasn't happy and need to purchase a new one. I contacted KAD about it, and they will send me a new, modified one as a replacement free of charge. So I am very happy, thanks a lot KAD! :-)

Slowly we're getting there step by step!

The boot lid is fitted:

Finally my mirrors has arrived, so those are fitted as well. Most of time I've spend on fitting the door lockings and windows, which was a struggle! :-( Buth all is in the right place and works now!

Next step is to fit the front and rear windows and create a custom made wiring loom, which will be the most complicated remaining task to complete :-).

I got the mirrors from Minispares: http://www.minispare...px|Back to shop

Haha! Luckily not, that’s the car cover for the Mini ;-) . The exhaust I have is quite hard to find these days, it is a Playmini Carbon Fibre side exhaust. It was a limited edition some years ago.
