Ecu Spi 1992

So looks like my ECU is shot, i have an 1992 SPI with the 2 connectors. Can anyone suggest where i might find one or even a cooper s one? last resort would be a Typhoon from SC.

 

with no immobiliser.

Why do you think it's shot? Does it just need testing and repairing?  I had mine reparied a number of years ago and it's been great since, think I used http://www.ecutesting.com/.

 

Sent it off in the post, got a call the next day with the problem, authorised the repair and it was back the next day (3 days total).

It is possible to retrofit the later 1 plug ECU but you do need to be electrically savvy to figure it out and run a new wire or two as well. It gets rid of the troublesome pedal switch. Its been a while since I did one, but it does and can work. The SC set up is a whole other head ache Im not sure youd appreciate 😞

flyingscot i dont have the mini at home but will try to find out the number, it was a german import to sweden

 

humph, i believe the last owner did some welding on the mini without disconnecting the battery, i have also ask the mini center in holland about repairing it

 

sprocet, yes that sounds like a headache, i would rather repair it or buy another and keep mine as a spare

 

minidavies please let me know if you do have one
