Hi Everyone

I have finally created a profile and decided to start posting after 5 years of reading other peoples threads and build projects.

Little about my-self, i live in Sydney Australia and have been very slowly re-building my own mini clubman for the past 5.5 years. I have recently got a second (or maybe third) wind of motivation to push through and finish the build.

I'm 28 years old and my build started when i was still at Uni, while working full time and trying to renovate my place so unfortunately working on the mini project took a back seat a lot of the time hence the 5.5 years and counting.

Looking forward to get some assistance on the forum to help complete the build and also document my experiences and progress from the past 5 years and into the future.

Here is picture from around 5 weeks ago.

Welcome to the forum, it looks a nice project, there's plenty of members on here who'll keep you motivated. You need to start a build thread with plenty of pictures.

Nice Clubbie mate. Looks like you've a 1275 in it. Did you want to tell us a little more about it?

Thanks guys

Yeah it has a 1275 A+ with a Kent 256 cam that we purchased from Ebay.  The guy we bought it from had a Cooper S replica and managed to find an original cooper S motor that he swapped out the 1275 for. I have had it since September 2014 and never heard it run so really looking forward to the first time she starts up.

The previous owner removed the carbies, starter motor and alternator so I need to source all of those item and also a few other minor bit and pieces.

I should clarify that I don't have any experience working on minis prior to this project and the engine department is where I know the least about it. I have currently re-built all the subframes and suspension components with little hastle but the engine intimidates me a little so will be reaching out on the forum when it comes time to sourcing the right parts.

I have also just started a Build Thread titled 1977 Leyland Mini - 1275 where I intent on telling the story of how I got the car from its day of purchase to its current state (with plenty of photos).

I'd love to live in Australia with my Mini, just to not have to think about rust :D

Unfortunately it affects us here as well, not to the same extent but enough that you are always cautious where it is going to pop up. Great price to live though.

Looking forward to a project thread. It'll be interesting to spot the differences on Oz Minis close up.

Did you need a rollover spit, since it's already upside down?  :D

That's a serious looking rotisserie. I spotted my 1st difference in the bulkhead, do you have UJ's to stop the shell getting twisted?

That looks beautiful. We have quite a few friends (and customers) over in the land of OZ. There were some interesting differences with the parts that were used over there. Door locks etc. Had some very interesting conversations in our earlier years with customers when we have sent tailored products over and they didn't fit :)

All rectified due to some friendly customer input though :)
