Guessing you've never seen the Mini modified scene of the 60's? Roof chopping , banded steels was the norm..

Hey, atleast its not red, white, cooperised..

It looks great. The front is a little long for my taste but the chop looks very well done.

Haters are always very outspoken. It’s a shame as haters take the fun out of every day life and individualism.

The mini scene used to be great fun and full of cars like this! Spiteful fools will have us all driving red coopers with white stripes before long lol

Interesting it has no V5 for it and the bidding is now over £5,000. How's it going to be registered?

It'd be interesting to see the interior, they could be some seriously heavy tinted steel windows for the driver to look through!

It'll be interesting to know what a windscreen for it will cost?

About 3 times what a laminated one does. Apparently cutting one down is the way to make front and rear glass for chopped Mins - and that's the usual failure rate.

New screens cut much easier than old ones. Old glass seems brittle in comparison. I can cut a new one and only break 1 in 4 ish but older laminated screens crack so easy and I struggle to get one good clean cut from 3 screens too.

Rear screens can be made from a front screen but again its best to use a new screen as the curve is more pronounced at the back and fitting an older screen cracks down the middle with ease.

I grind the outer edges to a nice round profile to relieve any stress. The cutters also leave tiny chips unless its a high end product and these chips start the cracks.
You cant really cut down toughened glass so I either use 4mm laminated glass or have glass toughened after its been cut for the sides.

I have used polycarbonate before for the back and rear side windows but it only looks good for so long as scratches cant be removed easily.

Right gents, getting around the forum swear filter is one thing, to start verbally abusing other members is another.

Yes you are entitled to an opinion, it would not be a forum otherwise. However if this continues warnings will be given.

And to add my view on this, we are all different. People sees things in a different light. The fact this particular car is different does not make it bad. Without the modified scene things would be very very boring.

I have cleaned the thread up.
