Thought I would post up a brief overview of this RSP Cooper I have been restoring for a customer. It's a Cooper that has had a works conversion, had been sat in the owners garden for a number of years and that had taken it's toll.

As always turned out be quite a lot worse once stripped than initially thought. The main panels it has had are full full front end, scuttle, full inner wings, drivers door post and door step, floors and inner sills repaired, outer sills, doors rebuilt, rear quarter repairs, heel board, full rear panel, boot floor repair, various local repairs inc some sections of gutter etc.

Should be finished soon, next year it will have a correct spec 1275 engine built as it is just running a temporary 998 for now.

I do usually but, I sent this one out as I wanted it to be really 100% but, to be honest I am a bit disappointed and it will be going back to have a few bits done again. If you want something done right do it yourself is so true isn't it!

Nice touch with the twin tanks , does it still have the John Cooper 'S' conversion plate by the drivers seat on the cross member . Also when restoring the vin is in the scuttle gutter worth retaining this .

I have it listed on the RSP Register and showing a 998 A plus engine number ...I wonder why ...Is there any more history ? Unusual rear panel 'S' stickers to .

Interesting car

Single carb and MPI wheels. It’s seen some changes over the years.

They're not sportspack wheels, just 12x5.

Is it going back to standard RSP / 30th wheels and a nice set of twin carbs Josh?

The owner wants to stick with the slightly wider wheels and arches. Unfortunately the original engine and carbs were lost from the car years ago. The current 998 is just a temporary measure and next year it will get an appropriate spec 1275 and carbs etc.
