Hi all,

I have an original xbox360 that's been in the loft for a few years. I'd like to get it up 'n' running for my 8 year old for christmas. I also have an un-opened Forza 3.

IF there's anyone out there, or their kids, advice is required:

There's NO Hard Drive in the console.

There are no memory cards.

I do have 2 controllers.

googled for half an hour, and I am non the wiser.

I think I need the 250Gb or 320Gb hard drive unit that simply plugs into the console to allow full use of game and cars.?

Do I need memory cards also to be able to use 2-player on Forza 3.?

Hopefully for less that £50, we can make something out of a currently unused console.

Cheers as always

I've only ever had playstations but the 360 should have its in built hard drive. However if not then a hard drive should be all you need to put games and game data onto.

All you'll need for playing 2 player are 2 controllers

with the PS2 didn't you need the memory cards to save progress in the game? Again don't know Xbox so possibly unhelpful.

As far as I remember, most games will need to be installed onto the hard drive so you will certainly need one for Forza I would have thought

Is yours the White console with the external hard drive that clips onto the top of the console? If so then you will need the correct xbox specific hard drive which I don't know if they are available new anymore so a used one will need to be bought on eBay or something

The one for sale in this link shows the hard drive I mean. It's grey and fitted to the top of the console.

If this isn't your type, then it will have the internal drive. One thing I am unsure about with the later model is whether or not the system software is installed onto the hard drive or not? If so, then It will not work unless a drive with the correct software is installed
