Apparently they have VIN numbers so it's all alright??

Who's name is on the logbook is what most people will want to know, are these cars even this guys to sell?

vin numbers mean horsepoo if you can't find out a DVLA registration number, we returned a MGBGT to the road, and the dvla refused to deal with us without the original registration, thankfully an owner 3 previous had a copy of a registration document proving vin and Reg match so dvla issued a V5C

It all depends if the car is on the DVLA database, if it is then your local autoparts store can give you the reg number from the vin, I did this with a car I bought a few years ago.

If its not on the DVLA database then you will need a heritage certificate for the car which you can get with only the VIN number.  Some of the Heritage Certs have the reg listed, if not then if they tell you where the car was sent you may be able to get the old registration records for the district which will list all the reg numbers that year and you just have to trawl though.

If you still can't get a heritage certificate but you can prove the age of the car with the heritage cert then they will give you an age related plate.

As long as you have the VIN number and a heritage cert or equivalent is available then you will be ok, I have done all three of the above on a Jag, Mini and AH Frogeye respectively over the last few years.

I suspect that those cars may have been imported.
