Hi everyone,

My long awaited 1275GT resto project was completed this year and is in the Mini Magazine.

It has taken me over eight years to complete and enjoyed every minute of the build, I think it's fair to say that The Mini Forum contributed to this build whether it be top tips, advise or sourcing items. The threads on here really helped especially during the difficult times and inspired me to achieve something a little different, so thank you all.

I hope you like it.

Neal

Hey Steve, good to hear from you and glad you like my car.

Don't about 'Sir' though.....'Working Class Hero' will do me just fine

As you wish Neal....still a top bloke to turn out a Mini like that!!!

Spoke to Bob on here earlier. I still want a head from you but have a few house projects on the go which must take (monetary) priority, so expect to hear from me in the new year!!!!!

All the best, Steve.

Kind words Steve, thank you.

Totally understand about priorities Steve as I'm in the same boat as you, although I have been whittling away at an SPI head for several months (hardened exhaust valves seats fitted as standard) and will probably be ready when you are and I'm in no rush to sell it, shall I put your name on it?

Neal

Thanks for the offer Neal, but I don’t want to commit at the mo, or muck you about, so if someone else wants a head you’re currently working on that’s ok by me!
If you finish it when I need it even better.....

Just read your feature Neal, your car is immaculate...definitely inspiring for me and my java green rusty clubman! I have also opted for gold alloys and seeing your GT I have definitely chose the right colour.

Thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed the feature and thank you for the kind words, Java Green is a nice bright summer colour especially with the gold wheels, a real eye catcher and you wont regret it. Enjoy your car build!!

Cheers, Neal

Hey Bob, Yeah the mini is wrapped up for the winter, now thinking of doing another for all round year use.

I was thinking of a stripped out interior with a cage and buckets, flip front, spotlights and knobbly tyres with raised suspension for the winter, then for the summer months and nice sunny evenings- off with the spotlights, lower the suspension and a nice set of tyres on an alternative set of rims.

I think I'll get rid of the GT this summer, it's a beaut of a car but for me it is not one that can be thoroughly enjoyed, this is one for the show boys & girls, I just enjoyed building it.

Hope you are ok and will see you when the sun comes out, Neal.
