Anyone got any idea of cost the strip a car back, spray it, and reassemble. inc engine out and spray engine bay.

2-3k a lot of labour there and then that's not taking into account any rott they find.

Around 3000 I would say. Could be much more if you’re fussy or just want a higher end finish.

I know its my car but stuff like this is a can of worms!!

 

My car is an original and unrestored MPi in pretty good condition, on one hand that's a good thing, on the other hand once you take something like that apart you're entering the unknown.

 

It's a short step to a full rebuild.

 

(red is nice anyway!!)

None yet, to be honest I've been a bit slow in getting him done!!

 

He's currently looking a bit sorry for himself on axle stands in my garage whilst I check him over and get him ready for an MOT.

 

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have him all cleaned up and looking good enough to be photographed!!

Its looks an honest thing to be honest.I know its only one picture,but it looks good to me.Better to have something to that needs work,than to buy something thats been tarted up.If i didn't have my pickup i think i would be sending shifty a message!!

Where are people getting the £3k quotes from? I'm getting them for much more just to prep and spray a bare shell?!!

I had a blow over on mine for 400 quid. It's crap but it's all one colour and looks great from 6 feet I'm satisfied with that lol

Well the last quote for a full derust and prime and respray of a good condition mini was £6500 over here in Jersey that at a garage that knows about minis
