What model/year? Maybe someone with a Sykes Pickavant ACR4 with the right software can do it? Hence my question.

Are they 16 pin diagnostic plugs? If so, my snap on reader may do it

Thanks for reply - its the 16 pin but needs the fiat/alfa specific software compatible.

audi and my fairly new merc do allow this by owner , even to point of procedure in h book

thanks lads

If you can borrow a interface lead then you can download the software for free. That's what I did for my Fiat.

Thanks Whistler

I will check that out...... as I understand the free stuff is good but won't extend to knocking out the oil change light.

Sorry to take up board space with my italian affair problems. Its been a great car for 5 yrs but I'm up to x5 cars and a scooter and mrs says somethings got to go and its not going to be her...

Ps

Hope no one from alfa owner is listening but .....I'm getting more help from the mini forum that the bells n whistles alfa owner contributors. I think on the whole they are less mechanically able then yer average mini owner - make of that sweeping statement what you will

Software is called AlfaOBD and it lists the Alfa 159 but as I can't connect to one then I can't tell what you can or can't do. I know that it will clear all fault codes and test certain components but can't answer your particular question.
Search for the software and try it.

Why don't you try Sussex Alfa in ditching, highly recommended and a fraction on dealer prices. They get quite a bit of custom out of my 159!!!

They were my first port of call but they were not keen to knock the light out as they don't know me from adam

My chums on alfa owner forum highly recommend him

Perhaps a recommendation or introduction from a known customer  might reassure him ?

Thank you for the response
