What winter storage tips do people have?

Would love to drive mine this year!

If garaging it, either remove the battery and store it somewhere in the house or trickle charge it - or both! Do an oil change and filter just before you store it, take it for a last 15 minute blast then garage it (old oil goes acidic and starts to attack seals). Wash and wax, then make sure it is 100% dry before storage. Don't both starting the engine and letting it warm up during the winter as frankly unless you're going to get the oil hot and actually put load on the engine, you're probably doing more harm than good.

Thanks for the reply Steve. There's always next year to be ready for.

I've only recently changed the oil but done a few hundred miles since. I'll do it again though and have a little spin.

I was going to give the mini a full detail removing as many contaminants as possible. Clay bar through to wax and the underside.

What about the suspension components? Can they be protected or cleaned?

Nowt wrong with giving them the once over. Keep all moving components greased etc. When i stored my Evo 9 over winter, I took it in for a full service, tucked it away under an indoor cover and put the trickle charger on it. Left it there for 6 months and in the spring it started first time and ran like a dream.

It's a mini tho? Lol

Thanks for the advice. Looking forward to maybe being organised and being able to put it away this year
