Hi guys! So it's been a while since I've needed to replace tyres as my mini isn't used daily, and after having a browse it seems the range of choice has somewhat disappeared for my 13x7s. I remember Maxxis, and Dunlop both offered tyres this size but now all I can find are Yokos and Nankangs. I've got Yokos at the moment but would rather something slightly cheaper without going for the ditch-finders (Nankangs)... Are they really that bad?

So are the yokos my only option?

Cheers guys

I run Nankang NS-2R's on the front of mine and the grip in the dry is stupid, i've had it pick up a rear tyre a little on q freshly resurfaced roundabout, I do believe I talked to you about them a little at US a few weeks ago. I would highly recommend them, especially as yours is only a weekend toy.
wet grip isn't bad either if you're ever caught in the rain.
One thing to note is that the NS-2R's are quite chunky for a 175/50, so you may encounter some more rubbing :/

I think these are no longer available or no longer made for the road/track only.

I honestly can't remember, but I can't find the email and I can't find them on Google. It didn't see anything about not legal for road use either..

EDIT: from what I can see on Nankang's website they are fully legal.

Plenty of people use the ns2r's on road, it's like the M1144 pads that say 'race use only' but seem to be the pads most use for road use

Cheers for the help chaps! Not sure I want the chunky look of the Ns2r's though. Anyone had experience with the AS1's? They're so ridiculously cheap I'm tempted to get a set just for the hell of it. It's not like my car is set up for racing anyway

I had AS1's on my old mini, they were a decent all rounder.

What wheel arches are you running there? I'm looking for options for mine.
