Somebody I know is an insurance broker and they are starting to say they wont cover theft as no forced entry to get into the car or get the keys means they can't prove it wasn't the owners fault in leaving the keys somewhere.

 

Know the other half has to leave her keys at the rear of her house (trad terrace with front door on path) else her car can be opened

And my folks thought i was batty when i made a lead lined box for my keys. The car doesn't even recognise the key if its in the bowl next to the car, let alone in the house!

Totally pointless system, they should offer the cars without it.
