I have acquired an MPi mini. The owner fitted lots of aftermarket stereo equipment.

I am stripping the interior out and need to remove the dash but I do not have the keys to remove the aftermarket stereo unit (Clarion I think) to get the dash panel off (see attached).

How can I remove the stereo without the stereo keys? I guess you can get some cheap ones off ebay if I have to.

have a look on you tube, I had a similar problem with my daughters Ford and there was someone on there showing you how to make some up. In my case I used old wire coat hangers, if you can see what they look like you can make something up. Maybe using flat steel sheet. They are usual fairly simple things.

Pull the face off, unclip the plastic surround then take two butter knives . One down each side, push them in up to the handle and rock up and down to find the clips. It'll pull out then, no probs. To remove the cage afterwards you'll be best squeezing it in the middle and using the same knives to fold the tags away from the dash hole

Cheers

Merv
