Had a great run on this event at the weekend.. Won my class by almost 6 minutes and finished 23rd overall (Modifieds) beating all the 16v cars in the same engine bracket...
Enjoy the ride
A cracking drive sir
the bit from 7.30 onwards was some comittment, every credit.
made me want to go out in the garage and dust off my helmet if you'll pardon the expression!

Cheers for the comments...
I have spent a lot of time and effort... (and money!!) sorting the car into what it is today.
A brief spec is...:
1345cc short stroke - 126 BHP - 118 ft/lbstorque
SW98 cam
MED full race head
Single Weber 45 DCOE with Ram Air
Manifow full bore manifold with reverse megaphone system
123 electronic distributor
4 speed Quaife dog box
Minispares diff with KAD 4.1 cwp (23mm wide) - Just new as broke a tooth off the old (18mm) one on the last event
Lloyd Hutchinson quick rack with power steering - Opel Corsa/Vauxhall Nova B column with control ECU
Front suspension is AVO double adjustable alloy shocks with 175lb springs on Lloyd Hutchinson designed wide track kit (Made by KAD)
Rear suspension is Minispares alloy beam - with strengthening mods by us - machinined from billet alloy radius arms with AVO double adjustable alloy shocks mounted in fabricated turrets
Front brakes are KAD 6 pot alloy calipers with Carbon Lorraine pads
Rear brakes are KAD rear disc conversion
Pedal box is KAD adjustable setup with 0.625" front master cylinder and 1.0" rear
Fuel tank is 35 litre alloy bespoke foam filled mounted where rear seat used to be boxed in by fabricated alloy panels
Fuel pumps are twin Facet Red top motorsport pumps with Filter King regulator mounted in original battery box
Dash is Curley carbon fibre with centre console and drivers binnacle
Loom is bespoke by me - started with a standard 88 carb model loom and made it to suit my own layout
Headlights are H4 LED lamps and I have a PIAA lamp pod with HID lamps
I think that's about it......
I'll post some pics soon
Hi, just been reading this. Fantastic car and driving.
Have you got any pictures of your fuel tank please? Son and I just about to commence build on an asphalt rally car for single venue rallies and will be running 13" wheels and struggling to see how we will fit a tank and a wheel in the boot, especially as it has a flat boot floor and box turrets for coilovers. So putting tank where rear seat was sounds good!

Apologies for the delay in replying.... haven't been here for a while.
The tank is a bespoke design by my friend Lloyd Hutchinson. I will try to find some pics and post them here asap.

Hi, Just seen your reply! I had some issues with my account on here. Thanks for the information and link to the great pictures. Think they will certainly help us.
Another question though! What rate springs do you have on the back please?
Thanks again.

Hi, My son had already found your footage and sent me the link and I watched it earlier tonight. Very impressive. The car seems very stable and not bouncing about all over the place (Minis can be a bit lively on bumpy surfaces!!)! It also pulls really well out of the corners, obviously got great torque. Oh and the crew seem ok too . Great result!
Thanks for the information you are providing. Once we start work on our shell I will try and start a thread on here.
