I've been doing this for about 5 years with classics. as an example. I've owned a mk1 reliant, ford consul, MGBGT, Ford anglia, Mg Midget, VW beetle,

the trick is finding the right car, and then putting a ticket on it, Its just a hobby for me, and you will never make tons of money but its fun and you get to own/drive lots of different cars,
if you have a few quid to spare and you are prepared to put the work in, then why not,

just have to be clear when selling it you are a private seller and you are selling the car as seen no warranty implied or given,

If you buy the car with the intention of selling it then you are a trader. Misrepresenting yourself when selling the car to avoid your legal responsibilities is fraud. Certainly not the sort of thing I'd be broadcasting on the Internet.

How can one end up with a small fortune from buying and selling classic cars?
Start off with a large fortune 😆.

If you buy purely to sell on for profit then yes I would agree, its a business and as such have responsibilities,

But I am not a business, I go through no more than 2 cars a year, I merely Buy a car, fix it up, have fun with it for a little while and then sell it when I get bored, its no different to buying a long term project for £500 doing it up and selling it for say £7000 after 5 years. Different timescales, but the end result is the same,

Important motto in life,
Everything is for sale for the Right price,
