I've been thinking lately about removing the stripes off my bonnet but was just wondering what people's opinions on them are.

It's a 93 sprite and I've just seen that the number plates wonky and the grill / bonnet is too
I will fix that soon.

Oh and the bonnet was resprayed in June so shouldn't have too much paint fade

I was thinking of leaving them off My '91 Cooper

But then I thought nah, just doesn't look right without

The pin stripes and laurels are going back on too when I've finished cutting an polishing because that's what it's supposed to have - but it all depends on what you want from your car. Do you want it to look like a 90's Cooper or the Sprite that it is? Nothing wrong with personalising your car but if it was mine I'd delete the stripes and celebrate it for what it is :mrcool:

Yeah see I have the sprite decals on it too, it's just wether I'll miss the lines of the stripes.

I guess for the price of new stripes it wouldnt cost too much to find out.

yours looks great by the way,I'll be honest I took the white mirrors off mine as I really didn't like them but I think with the roof on yours they suit it perfectly.

Cheers for the input

Personally I would remove them, to me there are just too many around whereas the car with a white roof and no stripes looks much nicer IMHO.

Hmmm ime pretty torn, I'll have to have a proper think. The input is appreciated though.

I did how ever get a new number plate today as the other one is cracked and drilled crooked, so I have that to fit along with all the other bits I've been putting off doing

So do i, but I don't think it's legal past 73.

I also haven't removed the stripes yet( still not sure wether to or not)

I think I'll focus on getting my dashboard, arch liners and all the other bits before I do.

Depends on the car.

If its a sporty look, Cooper or replica, then I think the bonnet stripes look great with a matching roof. If not, I think they can look fantastic without.

Its all personal opinion, either way, they all still look great and put a grin on the face as the garage door opens.

Our Mini is a black Cooper and when it was being resprayed, we painted the bonnet stripes to match the roof colour. It was done in Ford diamond white rather than the original old English white. Purists probably sneer but it looks a lot better.

I think stripes as you have the union jack, the combo looks great.

no stripes for me, my previous mini had them with a black roof and I honestly prefer it without, but that's just me.

Spoiler

Gorgeous :mrcool:

Got to admit I don't like any colour other than white when it comes to bonnet stripes and must be with a matching roof
