Will a centre main strap clear a Guessworks windage tray?

yes, there will be a ton of room below the strap, its the big ends that would be the issue if anything.

Holly thread resurrection Batman!! I recently tried to fit a Guessworks gearbox with windage tray to an A+ 1275 with the MED centre mainand found the MED strap bolt fouled the windage tray. My advice would be to look at a centre strap that uses countersunk cap screws that is able to retain the bolts with the profile of the strap.

While I'm not a believer in Centre Main Straps on these Engines, I doubt you've ever be able to Torque up Countersunk Main Bolts to the right level. Because of the Countersink, the Inhex Tool is quite small and it will likely break well before getting to 60 ft/lb, while I've not used them here, that's been my own experience.

I surely wouldn't want to use countersunk head bolts to hold a main bearing strap in place. A high tensile hex or cap head bolt is required.
If you need a windage tray you would be better off having a 4-bolt steel main cap made and the block line-bored rather than a main bearing strap and longer bolts.

The MED straps are indeed fat and use studs not bolts, maybe that's your problem.

The KAD 4 boot centre main fits with a windage tray but it does use counter bored cap head allen bolts.
