Hi all,
I've prepared a car for use on hrcr road rallies. Although I plan to do some hero/ hrcr type road events which run in the daylight, I'd like to at least have some spots wired up just in case. Is there any kind of regulation for spots? I.e. The amount you can have or even the size? I remember on night events a few years ago cars seemed to have massive lights fitted but now they look smaller?
Thanks in advance.

You can have 2 spotlights. Maximum width of the spotlight is 222mm....a lot of folk use Cibie Super Oscars or PIAA 80's.

On a side point.....if the event has zero chance of night sections, remove the spots.  Yes they look cool, but when you get a test wrong and have an off (late call by the nav of course!!) and front end it into a wall or some bails (or whatever), it adds to the bill if you have smashed 2 Super Oscars.

And for your wiring needs, David Wilson products are outstanding.

Spot on thanks chaps.

They won't be kept on for the above reason! I have a pair of cibies somewhere so will make up a bracket and give them a try.
Cheers :D

Changing the subject a bit, are you required to have a rear tow eye? And if so where's the best place for it?
Ive spotted this, https://www.amazon.c...ywords=Tow hook which I'm thinking might be ok to bolt on the rear subframe underneath the cone?
Thanks.

you need to read your regs. that one would most likely need a bracket making to attach it to the subframe so that it could actually be accessed.

MSA Rally regulations 48.1.13 states "Towing eyes of adequate strength and size must be fitted, or carried for fitting to, the front and rear of the vehicle. They must be painted a distinctive and contrasting colour"
So fit what you wish as long as they comply with the above.
