Hello I have a Morris 850 and I am new with a Mini.
I lose my clut continuously, my mechanic thinks its the pump but I am not sure because doesnt get air in the circuit. He thinks the pump doesnt make enough strength. We purged the circuit twice and the clutch works well but 100 km later Im slowly lose the clutch again.
Thank you very much in advance

sounds like seals have gone in either the slave or master cylinder. fix or replace.

how do you know? they are inside.

if you canget it working fine and then it does not then you are losing fluid. so check, fix, replace.

again presuming all other settings are correct.

I haven’t seen the fluid go down at all, the mechanic thinks it’s the pump, does that make sense?

The clutch pedal operates the master cylinder which 'pumps' hydraulic fluid to the slave cylinder (your picture) which then pushes in the clutch lever. If your mechanic is saying the pump is the master cylinder then it is probable that the rubber seals in that need replacing. All pressure seals are internal, not the dust/dirt seal your picture shows.

If its not loosing fluid...?  or getting air in...?  and works from cold...

Thinking outside the box a bit and wondering....

When all the wear (and sometimes bending) adds up, a Mini clutch can get to that point when the thing won't quite clear...

Could it be just at that point?

and as thing all get fully up to temp maybe not clearing...?  or would it work the other way anyone know..?

Try all 3 new clevis pins and a new push rod in the slave cylinder, and a new arm....it might just give you enough extra push to clear...a 1p piece in the slave cylinder can work too.

Sometimes the pedal one is really bad...don't we all love changing them...

Or it could just be the seals going in the master cylinder, just seams a bit odd how its as things warm up.

I had a similar problem with my clubby, new seals in the slave and a new master but I kept losing clutch action - a new slave cylinder cured it.

If I can suggest, if the seals have gone in one part (and likely the Master Cylinder here), then the others, and the hose won't be far behind. I'd suggest replacing the Master, Slave and the hose.

Pull that cover back and if it is dry inside it is probably the master cylinder that is the problem ... marked with the red arrow in the image below

To get to the same on the master cylinder you have to reach up under the dash and pedal box! But if that one is leaking it should be obvious by the wet cover and/or carpet!

I went to try again today.
When the car is turned off, the clutch works perfectly, then when I drove it I started to lose the clutch progressively. I pumped a lot of times and I couldnt recover it, it was really strange looked like in the middle of the pedal it works a little but not with the pedal completely pressed. I can't explain it. Is there any reason why the clutch works badly when the car is hot?
Thank you

Air or low fluid, make sure everything is tight, then check behind the dust covers for leaks

I did suggest above it might just be at that point of not clearing due to wear etc...

Replace all 3 Clevis pins and the arm....

The car is mine from the beginning of this year.
I think the cars hasnt got the correct oil. It could be that?
But I am not a mechanic.

Assuming you mean the fluid in the clutch system...it maybe wrong, not sure what effects would be....?

Do you know whats been used?
