Gear Rod And Gear Stick

Is there anything that should be looked at means the car is undergoing a full rebuild such as seals or springs? As from previous I have encountered spring and ball under my Morris minor gearstick many thanks

Is it a rod change or remote type ?

then the rod seal and then wear in the remote box where the stick goes in.

Where the gearstick locates onto the ball noticed a load of bolts around that section of the unit am I alright to removed all these to disassemble and clean everything?

 no idea where you are now. have a look at your manual as most of this is covered in them.

 

or include images so we actually know what you are on about.

 

but to answer your question sure as long as you are aware of what might jump out and know how to reassemble it.

In the link it's the centre item with the box around it with number 8,9 and 10
Looking at on here there isn't much other than the retainer pin and steady bush but actually looking at it in real life it looks as if the housing can be dismantled

yes 12 can be removed just make sure you note the orientation.

11 is held onto 1 and 6 by roll pins

4 id held in place by washers and a nut inside the housing.
