(The one by the oil filter - not by the gearstick).

Seems that these are still  NLA new,  so I have just recieved  a new replacement used on Land rovers that may work from Old School Minis.

It looks right - just the spade terminals seem different...

according to other related posts I may need to shim it and/or file the plunger to get it working correctly.

Must say its the first part I have been unable to get "off the shelf"

Will let you know how I get on.

Matt

There seem to be a lot of switches used with the same thread but varying sizes of "ball" on the end. When I had to get one a couple of years ago it took a lot of fiddling with a dremel and then needed the spring shortening to get it right.

If my very long term memory is correct you can use an auto box inhibitor switch. Worth looking into, maybe ask Cooperman.

Thanks v much both...

I'm sure I will be able to adapt or fit something to work...

The Triumph TR overdrive switches look identical albeit the orientation of the connection spades

On moggy minor site one contributor fitted a micro switch at the gear lever end of things  and reverse  light wired  via a relay was his fix....

(I'm just a bit miffed at  not to be able to order the right part off the shelf  thats all....)
