Starting My Mini Up

With the purchase of this car i received two keys, one with the lock/unlock buttons and a spare without.
The car starts perfectly fine with the spare , with the other one it turns ,lights come on ,then i turn to start car it doesn't and then locks the turning of the key unless you turn it the other way and pull the key out.

You will have noticed when you registered this is a Forum for classic Mini's. There are a few members on here who own a BMW MINI but I suggest you you use a BMW MINI forum such as mini2.com

The immobilizer chip is probably missing or not programmed to the car on the key that doesn't work.
