Ok i have read the info i can find but i am struggling to see what the actual difference is.

so i am guessing it is only slight or the service life or........................... i have no idea.

 

anyone know?

 

and mixing or changing?

different levels of anti scuff/ extreme pressure additive of whatever you want to call it. this might be helpful.

Best to use the correct oil thats specified, although while the link below on the whole seems quite detailed it's abit of an odd source.

They also state that GL5 oils are not compatible on some boxes with yellow metal components, which I was told is just industry hearsay about an issue that was fixed decades ago.

 

 

 

You can ring someone like Opie Oils and talk to their technical advisors who are quite knowledgeable.

They can advise you on what product is best, quite often oils are multi-spec, which takes some of the worry out of selecting the right one to use.
