That will bolt straight on with regards the cat end but you will need to drill the subframe at the tail pipe end to mount it , maniflow are good systems but they are a mild steel construction so will rust, there are cheaper stainless systems such as fletcher but they wont produce that signature mini sound a maniflow will produce

Thanks for your reply! Thats good to hear then, drilling at the tailpipe end wont be a problem, will the brackets off the standard system be ok to swap straight over do you think? Or is it worth buying a exhaust fitting kit! Sorry if im asking simple questions but never done this before! Thanks again :)

The brackets will be the same, aslong as your original rubber hanger is good it should be reusable

I have used three of their systems now on three different engines, including a 1275 SPI.  The first was all stainless and the next two mild steel, though each was progressively bigger in size to accommodate the extra power.

I know it's a matter of personal taste but I love the sound as well as the way they look but I opt for the more traditional looking back box, currently a central single rolled tip.

Not had any worries with rust.  If you are doing a lot of miles on salt treated roads, you only have to deal with surface rust and could always coat it down the line to aid protection.

Critically, the systems always helped make good power.  On that note, I would ask them whether the 1 7/8 DTM will be the best choice for power.  You may be better off on a smaller 1 3/4 system to create the right back pressure - I honestly don't know.  Worth calling Maniflow directly though.  They are really helpful.  Also, you may find that their Stage one kit incl. manifold, full system and filters is only slightly more than the back box you are looking at - especially if you were going to go stainless.

I used their injection LCB II manifold, the RCM and a single back box to good effect on my SPI, which had not had any head work or a cam change.  It retained the cat with a K&N filter.  Once that was all fitted, the next biggest gain I saw (+13 bhp) came from a good set of 1.5 Hi Lift roller rockers, which I can highly recommend fitting.

Only just saw this!

that's good news then i think the best thing to do is give them a ring :) i think they look the best personally! & also sound nice!

if a stage one kit isn't much more might be worth having that then... lol, i've already got a k&n filter i want to retain the cat for MOT man and heard there isn't much power loss from keeping it, i do like the rolled tips too but cant decide on side or centre placement  =]

i won't be using my mini every day so not too bothered about it rusting but i think i will go for stainless steel though to be honest... i keep changing my mind!

and i will look into the 1.5 Hi lift roller rockers :)

cheers

matt
