Hi!
Looking for a good flaring tool. Needs 1/4 and 3/16 45 degree double flares. Bought a 40 euro unbranded one and its rubbish.
Found some via Facebook but were out of stock. What have you guys used?

Cheers

I used to have a Sykes Pickavant one, amazing tool.  Might be overkill for home use.  Unfortunately it got nicked from the garage I used to work at.

Sealey now do one that looks very, very similar. LINK

You can get them with as many or as few flare dies as you want.  Yes it's not cheap but it will last a lifetime. It does perfect flares and I even managed to do a flare on the car holding the main 'press' with mole grips.

I took this one on amazon in Germany:

Does work very fine and very easy to use. Even in small places under the car. Looks the same as one example from Nicklouse.

And it does SAE and DIN type flaring, but onlw for 4.75mm tubes.

I have a cheap one like this, had it years and its never let me down. even used it on steel a couple of times to get out of trouble. you just need to know how to set it up to get it to flare right, ie have the correct amount of material protruding when you clamp the pipe.

Yep that’s what I use, even got dies to do the windscreen wiper tube ends too. Had it for years and wouldn’t look past it.
