Evening all

I was hoping that somebody would have the dimensions / or be able to measure from an unmolested shell, the height of a Mk4 door aperture.  Mine over the years has had a number of "fixes" with oversills and dodgy door step replacements, so i dont really have a datum to work to with the new door steps, and i would very much like it to be right.

Much appreciated

Andy

What’s annoying me I have put some on TMF and for the life of me I cannot find them. No access to my laptop for a week otherwise I could have posted up some more.

Thanks Wizzalong, very much appreciated.

Sonikk, its no rush as im away for a week so wont get any work done on it now.  Would be good to get some others for comparison.  I did a lot of googling myself and couldnt find anything, other than the normal shell dimensions.

To be honest it would be better to use an original unrepaired door as your reference points as there are too many variables to measure with true accuracy, like the slight curve in the door step section that follows the door bottom for instance.

Ultimately i will do that.  But i currently have bracing stopping me from putting the door on.  I have had a measure of what i have now and its bouncing around the 888 by a few mill.  The current door steps have been bodged over the top of the originals and various oversills and inner sills have been put in over the years.  I have changed the full floor, toe board and now door steps, inner wings and a post stiffeners, so i need some rough measures to check what i have is ok enough to work off.  In hindsight i should have changed the door steps first before i did the floor, but will put that down to inexperience.

Measure twice, cut once an all that....
