Looking to fit a new stereo head unit in the mini. I was wondering if any of you guys recommend one?
I was thinking of one with cd, Bluetooth & possibly DAB?
What are you guys using & even what set up for rest of system?

I have a Kenwood kmm-bt502dab in mine. It's a dab radio.

It doesn't have a cd player which also means there's no jumping. I prefer having no moving parts for better playback on the move.

It can also stream music over Bluetooth and hands free works as well. It does everything I want from a head unit.

On my 1275 round nose I have a pioneer usb/aux, running 2 6*9(under rear seat) then 2 4 inch speakers in the dash where the fresh air vents would be(we have removed the FA system from the car, welding the holes up)

What you need is a good cassette player, its only a matter of time until they make a comeback!, all this newfangled digital music malarkey will never last.

Ive still got a stack of tapes, actually still got a cassette player in my Discovery.  :D

They've never been away! Tons of new music to be found on cassette - some of it quite niche admittedly - but there's all sorts to be had on tape in 2018 :)
I've got lots of blank tapes too if you're ever short ;)

I quite like the retro ones on e bay that look like an old radio but have a usb/aux in port and are only £25 delivered from Germany.

Not CD though..

I copied this as I have shared with VW chums

Link to uk site selling them for £250

Pop pickers

One of the things that let the interior of older vehicles down (to those of us who are bothered by such thing) s is the install of a modern head unit so that we can play music from I pod /phone, have handsfree b tooth and charge devices

Retro looking head unit on e bay which has FM (nodd arff ! ), aux in, SD, USB charger for phone/sat nav , bluetooth for handsfree and little remote controller for passengers in rear of the van for £25 delivered from germany. No CD but that isn't a bother to me.

Very cheap compared to other fake classic radios on the classic car market that are well over £100... its the same Chinese base unit as this which is £299 !

Off e bay they offer shorter (less deep) and standard dimension units. The shorter ones might fit on rather then under front parcel shelf being in a shallower case

https://www.youtube....8zCS ... /shop/

They look in keeping and I can't tell the difference in quality to the ones removed which... whilst not B&O were not cheap units.

American radio web sites are selling them for over $400 and the top link to a place in scotland sell different faces to suit different styles of classic car -

You could be cheeky and buy the basic 70"s one from germany and from Uk supplier a front and facia panel of your choice - (until they cotton on that is)...

Ta Raa....
