can you say cobblers?

but aside i think there should mix it up and put both sexes doing it and maybe less skimpy costumes. at the end of the day they are used as an advertising platform more than anything and will be replaced with mascots like the michelin man and people dressed as spark plugs etc

Joke.

This is the start of the revolution. All these little left wing do good outbursts will end some were.

I can imagine the people pushing it,sat in KFC in a world of deep fried. double. large. supersize.

These women love there jobs its not as though there forced into it !!!!!!!!!!!

Ask any glamour model or grid girl etc. I bet they say they enjoy it.

Id take my clothes off for £££££ beats getting oily every day trapping my fingers laying on a cold floor.

I dont see anyone banning Mr universe. and they do wear skimpy pants.

Sexist pigs.

So surely the next step is to close down the modeling industry and ban any women/girl from having a career as a model? (are we still allowed to say 'girls' under these PC rules?). Perhaps the Grid Girls could be reinstated into their jobs if they wear burkas to satisfy the PC brigade now running F1.....

F1 grid girl speaks: 'Not one of us think it’s sexist, exploitative or demeaning'
Autoweek spoke to British grid girl Samantha Young to get the feelings of someone now down on a job for the year.
Young is no newcomer to the industry and has spent a number of years working with various championships, including the British Touring Car Championship, British GT Championship and Formula 1:-
"Grid girls are part of the tradition, and for those of us who are not mechanics, engineers or truckies, etc., it’s a way to be involved in the sport -- a sport which I love and I’ve been around since I was 7 years old. Someone I knew owned a race team, so I grew up at race circuits. My school holidays were spent at Spa, Dijon, Estoril, etc. Whilst all my school friends were off on all-inclusive holidays, I was polishing race cars. I didn’t want to be a mechanic or engineer, so choosing to be a grid girl gives me a way to stay involved in motorsport -- just as much a part of the team without having to retrain into a different career. All I’m asking is don’t remove my ability to choose!"

It is sexist if there aren't any grid boys.

At the end of the day it'll be about money. F1 would be happy if it brings in sponsorship for the majority male audience. They won't be happy if they lose telly revenue because elements in society at large influence the broadcasters.

It's ridiculous. It's not as if all of the girls are stunners. They are not all skinny super models. Just chicks doing a job, so let them get on with something they enjoy. Now pop your knickers on and make me a cup of tea, sugar t1ts.

Yeah, there are more square inches on a busty blonde than a 10yr old karting champ  :P.

That's actually a decent argument for the motorsport kids, if it makes them more attractive to sponsors in general.

I've always wondered why they were there in the first place.  Just seemed a bit weird.  Then again, I always find it weird when mag features etc. have pictures of cars with girls spread over the bonnet, just don't see the point.

Can't please all the people, all the time, though.
