Hi Everyone!  I've been on here for just a few weeks, and have already learned so much from the wealth of info available - Thank you!  Just a bit about me and our Mini "Branston".  I am American and live in the Seattle area with my wife (a Brit, a Brummie!) We purchased a 1983 Mini locally about 18 months ago. He started life as a Mini City E (we actually have all the original purchase docs) but he fell on hard times, and was later restored and changed up a bit. We decided to start work on a light restoration and paint job, and as we thought about it we decided we wanted to do a bit of a Mk1 Morris tribute. You see, my wife's parents both worked for Morris in their early careers - in fact, that's where they met (company sponsored badminton league). They were married, and lived out their days in Rubery, just a few minutes from Longbridge. So Mini's and Morris were pretty influential in their story, so why not a bit of tribute.  Anyway - Branston is at the exfoliators (media blasters) now, the new 1330 engine is waiting to be built in the garage, and I am learning all I can from you all.  I hope to get some photos up of the before, during and after...we'll see how I do.  Thanks in advance for sharing your insights and wisdom!!

Hi - so I didn't get to post progress, but, Branston is now SOOOO close to being done!  The new 1330 engine with SW5, HIF44, large valve head, is great!  Tons of fun, just needs to be dialed in, both the engine and suspension.  Then it's driving time!  Been super grateful for all the collective wisdom here.  From the help with sorting out the carb idle issue, to many other tips and bits of guidance I've gleaned along the way, it seems 'Thank You' is way too short a phrase to cover it, but, Thank you! I'll upload a few photos soon...
