Hi Everyone,

My name is Christian and I’m the proud owner of a Mainstream Carburettor Cooper for eleven years now. Being a mechanical engineer by trade, I was looking for a project which would serve two requirements. Firstly, I was looking for a car that I could tinker with in my spare time and secondly, I was looking for a way to improve my English language skills. Eleven years later I have done a lot of spannering and are right now in the process of a long overdue major overhaul. Regarding my language skills you may judge yourselves.

Latest news beside the (as usual?) slow progress on the Cooper, is a new arrival in my garage. To say it with the words of Mike Brewer: ‘I just bought myself a Mini Van.’ It’s a fairly original 1980 build 998 ccm model which I just couldn’t resist.

I’m looking forward to exchange on technical details with you in the future and remain with the best wishes from the Pied Pipers Town.

Christian

Hi Guys,

Thank you very much for your kind compliments. I just uploaded a picture of my Mainstream Cooper (with my son and our family dog) to my profile.

My plan is to start a documentary on both my projects in the projects area. Unfortunately the garage I'm currently working in is not the best place to take nice photos.

Anyway, today is Friday which usually means that I will sneak out of the office early to spend some time with friends and Minis in the garage.

Hi Guys,

Thank you soo much for your kind words. Might be that my vocabulary is a bit strange. I have learnt from Haynes and car magazines. Speaking of which, I have the fealing, that the English magazines are not very well lectured. I often see word doubles as well as entirely wrong words as if someone has used an auto-correct.

Anyway, I will read the latest issue of mini magazine now ..
