hey
its all to do with how the car is set up. All the cars u see doing this will b running richer than needed to give the flames.
The cost is around £99ish as i saw it in a max power once but i cant see it being too hard to do your self, all it is is a spark plug in the backbox, to a switch on the inside and whalla, ultimate flames!
Ive bin thinkin about doin it to mine as i have no midsection and the cars runs rich for this (excess fuel thru the system)
its all to do with the coil, alot of american lowriders use them and have a seperate coil to do so, sometimes havin another extra one if there are 2 exhausts to supply the flames to.
As for insurance i have no idea, i no its an mot failure (been told) but there is away to get past this (i think it consists of a threaded bung screwed into the exhaust hole where the plug was!
dats how it works, if u come across a kit of infact do a homemade kit then please update me as id love to do it!
cheers mate

First of all - Why?
If thats the sort of thing that floats your boat tho, its easy to do to a mini, Old Blue did it for a pass time because of the weber...
All you need to do it turn the mixture up a bit so its running rich, not too much tho because it'll wash the bores in the block. It also helps if your running a decent exhaust too...

Neil there aint no "boy racers" near ours with flames out the back end and it wouldnt change the performace of the car apart from the fact that it wil be running richer so itle be using more fuel so you have to re fuel sooner and spend even more money and just because there are flame dont mean that its rocket propeld
