This should suit anyone with a tuned engine...

Fully done as per Vizard, reconditioned and ready to fit, all details on link.

http://www.retromini...roducts_id=1270

Listed at £315

Just needs dashpot oil and a needle to go.

Let us know what needle you want or we can recommend one for your engine (in with the price)

Fully vizarded, but the screws are sticking out..

They have to have button head screws to hold the butterfly

Countersunk into the butterfly does not work as it need some wriggle to centre in the body.

Have a look down a standard carb...

The spindle, butterfly and screws are like a phone pole complete with 2 pots dragging in the wind

Thanks for the comments, just to put some perspective on the price tag

Ebay--- unknown carb and manifold, £120 to 299

New jet, new float needle, new damper, new needle, new gaskets / seals etc (say £50 total)

Plus 10 hours work at £25/hr

120+50+250=  £420

If you can buy 1 horsepower for £100 you are doing well

In theory you could buy at 315 and sell your existing setup at 150... so it would cost you 165 for a recondition modified HIF44 and manifold with 300 quids worth of work and parts

what would this carb need to run a turbo?

ive seen an external vent /link pipe and ive read that

the wrong gasket can block off an internal jet or pathway.

this is my limit of knowledge on turbo carbs.

cheers for any help johnpaul

Thanks for asking, for a suck through system nothing...

But I guess you are using the MG Metro setup which is blow through...the inlet manifold and float chamber (top) need connecting.

This is done by a pipe from the bolt flange of the carb that goes from there to the float chamber vent.....that will be the one you have seen, its the black pipe on the photo.

This carb needs a spacer block with a pipe take-off between the carb and manifold, and a pipe to connect the 2, which would do the job as per standard turbo setup

If you bought it I would do that for free.

I do have a spare turbo carb plenum too.

If you need any diagrams on piping them up just ask, as with the ECU, fuel pressure regulator, wastegate and a bleed off valve it can get complicated, but compared to a bi-turbo range rover its ABC, and more reliable...hahah

PM me.

Going on a 1330 with a 286 cam and a Longman head.

It made the full asking price too at £315

About half the price of a decent new Weber Dcoe
