That is brilliant!

I remain forever greatful that we didn't take pictures off some of the capers we got up to. I'm sure the lady in the hairdressers on hillsborough corner still has flashbacks of a mk2 escort hurtling towards her with 2 young blokes hanging on for dear life as it stopped 3 inches from the plate glass window. O_O :D

i know you can put a bare saloon shell onto a mk3 cortina estate roof rack to move it  :shifty:

Pictures or it didnt happen  :shifty:

..here you go - the cortina was affectionately known as 'the beast", so this combo became 'the beast with two backs'.

got quite a few odd looks driving through St Albans with that strapped to the roof.  handling was atrocious. the cortina rolled like a boat anyway, and with the shell on the roof it felt like it was going turn turtle every time you changed direction (..roundabouts were particularly traumatic..).

didn't help that no-one else would get in the car with me for the drive over - they preferred the option of a 'chase' car (..i suspect for reasons of deniability..).  Didn't help my nerves that everytime i checked my mirrors, my so called 'support' team were ***** themselves laughing

Ive not seen a Cortina since I was a kid!

Why is it back in the day, all Cortinas had an off colour wing Onslow style!?
