That was absolutely fantastic, bloody hell.

Hopefully the centre core landed successfully  too.

Forgot about that. Musk certainly has a sense of humour :D

Loved the spaceman with his arm resting on the door top

That was amazing!  The rocket itself was not as loud as I expected but it rattled the aluminium soffit under my roof for a lot longer than on previous launches. The side boosters landing was fantastic! This is the first time that I have seen the boosters light up on the way back while they were were still way up. The landing was very noisy, four sonic booms one after the other. Good thing, that the dog was inside the house in his cage since he went bananas barking. Last time he was in the backyard and got away! Luckily, some lady caught him and he was returned.

I almost missed watching the launch outside since the You Tube video was more than a minute behind. My wife was watching the local news and she told when to go out. Now, the big issue is the traffic on the roads (something I don't need to deal with). People had been parking and camping everywhere overnight to get a good viewing spot. Now everybody has to go home at the same time.

No word of the drone ship landing yet.

The wife recons some billionaires last wish was to be put in that suit and sent into orbit - for a small sum.

Hypnotic, you could loose yourself for a while watching that. I'd love it if they had programmed the car to turn it's lights and indicators on occasionally - and flick the wipers :mrcool:

The thing is the car part could still fail if after the cruise phase the engine will not reignite for the final phase. Hopefully that will not happen and the little red Tesla will carry on with its epic journey.

The biggest thing it has proven is the heavy lift part will work. I think the crunch for Musk will be when they go full weight for a payload. That will be the indicator for how successful this will be and how far this will actually go. Signs are good and fair shout for doing this.

Deeply impressive and as they say “ it’s the future of space exploration”

The resuability of the boosters is a fantastic achievement especially as they land and not crash into the see as per the old shuttle boosters. Yes they were reused but certainly not to the same extent as the Space X units. Cost is everything and keeping it as cheap and reliable is the key.

I am sure a lot of people further up the food chain will be keeping a serious eye on this as a viable prospect for us as mankind to actually go that bit further than the moon. I really hope to see a Mars landing in my lifetime.
