Apologies if this has been posted before, but i've just installed the 'photobucket hotlink fix' addon in chrome and i can now view everyone's photos again. Thought i'd share incase others hadn't found this workaround yet.

Yes been using it for a while now and can see pictures on every forum I'm on, pity it only works on Chrome.

Interesting,

Wonder if it's likely to sat on by Photobucket - or is it redirecting to copies on Google's servers?

it must rely on some sort of Google cache I reckon. Either way I am happy.

I've actually looked in to this extension to help out GraemeC just recently.

The extension should be considered malicious, it will forward all the web addresses you visit over http to the extension authors web server, this compromises your security and privacy. Additionally it rewrites things like Amazon referral links so the extension author gets paid instead of the actual referrer.

I would strongly recommend you all remove the extension.

I'm afraid so. I've reported the extension to the Chrome store and I'm hoping it'll be removed when they review it.

Just so people are aware as well, the extension operates whether it's enabled in Chrome or not, you must remove it.

Strangely my PC seems to have gotten a lot quicker since I removed the add on

That's another thing, it causes the browser to block the rest of the page loading until the authors domain responds to the request it sent with the URL you're accessing. If his server is slow to respond, so is your browsing.

It's closed source, I wouldn't touch it.
